President Mr. Hiroshi Sato at the Netmarks headquarters in Toyosu district, Tokyo, Japan. He was accompanied by NMP President, Mr. Philip B. Sanvictores. The NMP executives were in Tokyo as members of the Philippine delegation to the 31st Annual Joint Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Committees of Japan and the Philippines, which was held March 14, 2013 at the Tokyo Kaikan. It is noteworthy that Chairman BFS was a founding member of the Philippine Committee which first met in Manila in 1973. Both Chairman BFS and NMP President PBS are active members of the Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee, the Philippine counterpart organization of the Japan committee composed of members of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives). During the courtesy call, they discussed a wide range of topics ranging from the heightened interest of Japanese companies to invest in the Philippines, the emergence of Japan’s “China + One” strategy for mitigating country risk and numerous encouraging business developments being undertaken by Netmarks PH. Mr. Shigeru Arakawa and Mr. Masahiro Miura of the Overseas Business Division of Netmarks JP were also in attendance. Mr. Arakawa is an incumbent Director of Netmarks PH while Mr. Miura is the NMJ Manager directly responsible for Philippine business. A private dinner party was hosted by President Sato in honor of Amb Sanvictores later that evening.
