INTRODUCTION

THE CHALLENGE

The client faced significant challenges with their existing network setup, which relied heavily on traditional MPLS connections. These connections not only incurred high costs but also limited bandwidth and redundancy. Additionally, the availability of internet connections at certain sites posed a challenge, making the migration from MPLS to an SDWAN solution even more critical. As the demand for seamless connectivity for critical applications grew, it became clear that a more agile and cost-effective solution was essential. The need for enhanced domestic network connectivity or a next gen firewall (NGFW) was prioritized to ensure reliable links between various branches and the headquarters.

THE SOLUTION

Netmarks Philippines Inc. proposed the implementation of Versa Networks’ SD-WAN solution to facilitate multi-site connectivity using internet lines for connecting various branches to the headquarters. This transition to a Software-Defined WAN not only eliminates the reliance/dependence on costly/expensive MPLS but also improves bandwidth capabilities and stability across the network.

THE RESULT

The implementation of the SD-WAN solution significantly transformed the client’s network infrastructure. With enhanced bandwidth and reliable connections, the organization experienced improved performance and efficiency across all branches. The shift to a more modern network architecture not only reduced operational costs but also established a highly available network connectivity framework. This change allowed for seamless integration of critical applications, reinforcing the overall reliability of business operations.

Additionally, instead of managing each site separately, a single pane of glass/management was introduced, allowing the client to complete oversight and control over their entire network. Furthermore, the client benefited from reduced monthly charges for internet bills, resulting in substantial savings.

For this project, Netmarks Philippines Inc. provided pre-configuration, installation, and deployment of the SD-WAN solution across 10 working days at 8 sites, including 3 major locations nationwide. The plug-and-play approach ensured a seamless transition, allowing for quick implementation with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
